DONNA SCHUFRO
(Don Schufro/Freedom/Ramino)
Breeder: Georg Sieverding, Emstrek, Germany

Donna Schufro has now retired from her broodmare career and will enjoy her well deserved retirement as a companion horse in a wonderful new home.

Donna Schufro received a German Oldenburg Premium Foal Award and earned an excellent overall score of 7.8 at her German Mare Inspection!

At her Mare Inspection, she received the outstanding scores of 8 for her Breed/Sex Type, Walk and Quality of Gaits. She received an exceptional score of 9 for Impulsion/Elasticity (Trot).

Both her dam and grand dam were State Premium mares and both were awarded the additional title of State Premium Elite mare. This award is presented to State Premium mares upon producing a minimum of three Premium foals in Germany.

After her importation to the United States, Donna Shufro had exceptional scores during her AHS Inspection at Stone Gate Farm in Michigan and was named Champion Hanoverian Mare. In 2004, Donna Schufro was the German Oldenburg Verband (GOV) USDF Maiden/Yeld Mare Champion.

We are thankful to Denise Higgins, Blue Moon Farms, Dryden, MI for the opportunity to add this wonderful mare and exemplary producer to our broodmare band at Bridlewood Farm.

Thanks again for such a wonderful filly! She's gorgeous but she's equally sweet!"

DONNA SCHUFRO - A SUCCESSFUL BROODMARE
Donna Schufro was imported as a three year old in 2000 by Denise Higgins owner of Blue Moon Farms, Michigan, directly from Paul Schockemuhle at Gesteut Lewitz, Steinfeld, Germany. She was in foal by Sandro Hit.

Both Don Schufro and Sandro Hit were very young in their distinguished careers at the time when Donna Schufro’s dam, SPS Moni was bred to Don Schufro as a four-year-old and when Donna Schufro was bred to Sandro Hit, the World Champion of the six-year-old dressage horses and 1999 Winner of the Federal Championships in Warrendorf (Bundeschampionate).

(Fabuleux x Donna Schufro/Don Schufro) Breeder Denise Higgins, Blue Moon Farms, Dryden, MI. Owner: Karen Hooks, DVM, Little Rock, AR.

Owner's comments: "Fendi II is more than I could have possibly hoped for! Thank you and congratulations to Denise Higgins of Blue Moon Farms for breeding such a special colt."
FENDI II - 2006 COLT OUT OF DONNA SCHUFRO BY FABULEUX
In 2005, Ms. Higgins selected Bridlewood Farm’s Stallion, Fabuleux as the first US stallion to be bred to Donna Schufro. This resulting colt, Fendi II, was purchased in utero by veterinarian and rider, Karen Hooks, DVM.

We are so pleased with the opportunity to purchase this wonderfully bred mare and feel that Fabuleux was an excellent breeding combination with her. We are very much looking forward to Donna Schufro's foal this spring by Fabuleux at Bridlewood Farm!
STELLAMARA - AN EXCEPTIONAL OFFSPRING OF DONNA SCHUFRO
Stellamara, the 2003 filly out of Donna Schufro by Sandro Hit was shown extensively in the USDF DSHB Classes as a weanling. In her weanling year, she was awarded the USDF Hanoverian Young Horse Filly Championship (weanling through three year old), the USDF Weanling Filly Championship (all breeds) and was awarded the prestigious USDF Traveling Trot Trophy, an unprecidented accomplishment.

The Traveling Trot USDF Trophy is awarded to the horse (of all ages, breeds and genders) with the highest Breed Show percentage of the entire year. To this day, Donna Schfro's foal Stellamara is the only weanling to have won this award.
STELLAMARA IN AUSTRALIA
The combination of two of Donna Schufro’s first offspring, Sirius and Stellamara are very similar in pedigree to the exceptional stallion, Diamond Hit (Don Schufro/Sandro Hit).

Donna Shufro's 2001 colt, Sirius by Sandro Hit, born at Blue Moon Farm in Michigan, was exported to Germany as a top dressage prospect. In 2003, her filly, Stellamara by Sandro Hit was exported to Australia and has begun a successful career as a dressage horse.
STELLAMARA TODAY - A DRESSAGE CAREER IN AUSTRALIA
Stellamara (Sandro Hit x Donna Schufro/Don Schufro) was exported to Australia where she is already enjoying success as a dressage competitor with dressage rider Lauren George. This photo was taken at her first competition as a three year and a half year old.

Owner's comments: "She is extremely talented and will be bought back into work for Australias largest dressage competition "dressage with the stars" in November where I verily believe she will be a strong contender to represent Australia in the European young horse championships. This picture of Stella was taken with only several months work under saddle by myself. That includes breaking her in! She was the youngest horse to ever qualify and compete at this National event placing 7th in her second round. The other horses were up to 2 years older than herself due to the birthdate system in our country."
SIRIUS - 2001 COLT OUT OF DONNA SCHUFRO BY SANDRO HIT
Breeder: Denise Higgins, Blue Moon Farm, Dryden, MI. Sirius (Sandro Hit x Donna Schufro/Don Schufro) was a successful breed show competitor before being purchased as a top dressage prospect and exported to Germany.

DONNERWETTER - PATERNAL GREAT GRANDSIRE OF DONNA SCHUFRO
Donnerwetter was by Disput x Matador and was trained at Grand Prix level. He made his name on the international dressage scene with Belgian rider Decia de Pauw and from 1989 onwards under Herbert Rehbein. In 1990 Gronwoldhof sold Donnerwetter to Windsome Farm in Virginia, USA, where he was up for stud to a select group of mares until his death. Donnerwetter has five licensed sons and five registered State Premium Mares. Although Donnerwetter was a superb stallion himself, he was somewhat overshadowed by his illustrius son Donnerhall.
PIK BUBE - PATERNAL GREAT GRANDSIRE OF DONNA SCHUFRO
Pik Bube was a successful sire in his own right, but more importantly he was one half of the magic equation: Donnerhall x Pik Bube - for the overwhelming majority of successful Donnerhall progeny are out of mares by Pik Bube.
Pik Bube stood at the Grönwohldhof studfarm - where he formed a hugely successful partnership with resident trainer, Herbert Rehbein winning 11 out of 12 advanced classes in their only competition season.
Pik Bube’s sire, Pik König is considered the most important son of Pix As the famous Thoroughbred sire of showjumpers. Pik Bube’s dam, Franka was a producer of dressage champions.
Pik Bube sired performers in all disciplines. His daughter, Pikantje was Federal German riding horse champion of 1981, and Pik Bube’s Girl won the 1990 Federal Mare Show in Verden. Pik Primaire, Pik Royal were amongst the 49 of his offspring that were successful in advanced dressage, while 19 showjumpers achieved advanced level.
As a brood mare sire, Pik Bube has been a phenomenon, especially when teamed with Donnerhall: Davignon, Don Primero, Don Schufro, Donatelli, Donnerbube, Dream of Glory, Duntroon - all bred on that magic cross Donnerhall/Pik Bube.
FURIOSO II - MATERNAL GREAT GRANDSIRE OF DONNA SCHUFRO
Furioso II was imported to Germany by the legendary Oldenburg breeder, George Vorwerk. Furioso II was out of the great mare, Dame de Renville, who produced a series of successful sires and competition horses. Furioso II was approved for the Oldenburg studbook in 1967, and then went on to easily win his 100 day test. Later he was approved for Hannover, Rhineland, Hessen and Westfalia. For many years, Furioso II was ranked in the top three sires of leading money winners in Germany. Furioso II had winners in all disciplines. His showjumping stars included: FBI, Heissman and For Pleasure. Perhaps Furioso II’s most influential son is Voltaire - out of a mare by another classic sire of jumping horses, Gotthard. Voltaire is the sire of 33 approved sons and top jumpers. In dressage, his son, Purioso is the sire of numerous stars including Anky van Grunsven’s Grand Prix horse Cocktail.
RAMINO - MATERNAL GREAT GRANDSIRE OF DONNA SCHUFRO
